Nick Lincoln

An IFA since 2001, Nick runs a practice offering full-fat financial planning to all clients, all of the time, with no exceptions.

Blending humour with pithy, eternal messages around people and their money, Nick was once a sought-after speaker at financial services events.

Often outspoken,  Nick tells the truth as he sees it. His mantra: "Honesty is the only policy." Because of this, he is no longer a sought-after speaker at financial services events.

Carl Widger

Carl is a driven and focused individual with decades of experience in financial services and wealth management. He is evangelical about financial planning and – when done correctly – its ability to transform lives.

What maxim best encapsulates Carl Widger? We could probably settle on “Carpe Diem”. Unsurprisingly, Carl is a person who actively pursues many passions outside of Financial Planning and has an unending bucket list.

Carl founded Metis Ireland with a firm belief that expert financial planning can empower individuals to get maximum return on life. As time goes on that conviction has gotten stronger and stronger; it is now backed by real-life testimonials from hundreds of clients who are living proof of the positive impact of the planning process.

Matt Abouzeid

Matt has over 20 years of experience in the investment industry, including 15 years at Vanguard.

He worked with some of the most sophisticated investors in Europe, including global private banks, insurance companies, pension schemes, and sovereign wealth funds. He was responsible for a £40 billion book of business — the largest in Europe.

This rare combination of experience gives Matt a uniquely broad and deep perspective. He has gained a clear view of what works in investing, and a rare, inside-out understanding of how advice is delivered — and what truly drives long-term success.

Through this, he developed strong conviction that the most effective financial planning is aligned to client values, simple, evidence-based, and built around planning — not products. He has also developed strong convictions about what detracts value: high fees, unnecessary complexity, and advice built around selling products.

Ola Abdul

Ola Abdul is the founder and CEO of Fundment, a UK-based digital investment platform for financial advisers.

He founded the company (incorporated in 2014, launched in 2018) to modernise the technology used by financial advisers, citing the "poor technology culture" he observed in the industry.

Before starting Fundment, Abdul worked for several years in asset management. His previous roles include positions at BlackRock (working with the iShares ETF business) and Aberdeen Asset Management (now abrdn). He studied economics at university.
